Cape Pioneer — Race With Soul Five days from the Garden Route to the Klein Karoo. It starts at Wilderness on the Indian Ocean and works inland through the Saasveld singletrack and the forests above Herold, across the Kammanassie, over the Swartberg and down into Oudtshoorn — 429 km with 8 950 m of climbing stacked into them. The terrain changes under you every day: sea mist and forest loam at the start, Karoo scrub and dust by the end. It's a race at the front and a hard week for everyone else, run out of race villages that the organisers describe as "challenge, community, race, experience, pain, party."
